Description:
An ideal owner/operator business with little competition.
Introduction
Our business is a sewing business. We deal in all types of sewing, supplying goods such as sewing
machines, overlockers, horn cabinets, patchwork fabric haberdashery, needlework threads, patterns, books and more. At this point our repairs and servicing is done on the premises as we are a husband and wife team.
We have many brands of sewing machines and overlockers on display including, Husqvarna Viking; Janome; Bernina; Elna; Babylock and Singer. Our machines are our main business and our turnover per annum is approx $500,000.00
History and Background
We have owned this sewing shop for 14 years. We started as a Janome Dealership and have progressed to a major sewing shop.
The shop is approx 260sqmt. As we have rear access and parking, our sewing room and repair shop is easily accessible through the back door, so customers don’t need to carry their heavy machines very far.
We are located in the main street and are approx 3 doors from spotlight, so right in the sewing hub of Wagga Wagga. A fully air conditioned shop with a very warm, friendly atmosphere is what we offer.

Know How Sewing Centre has a multi paged website (being updated as I write this)
We have our shop listed with lots of different sites including all the brand name sewing machine
companies and patchwork fabric distributors.
We also use the three major media groups, Newspaper, television and radio, letter box drops as well as craft and sewing magazines.
Our customer data base is over 1600.
Class Room
As mentioned our classroom is accessible through the front or back doors. It has lots of room and power points all around the walls for ample sewing machines, lamps, light boxes etc. Coming right off the kitchen it is also easily accessible to a good cup of tea or coffee. Something which we offer our
Customers at all times.
Future prospects
The business is thriving and should continue to do so for new operators. However there is always room for additional ventures. There is ample room for an alterations and garment repairs area. Hand sewing classes, and ongoing existing classes, machine quilting service, more fabric, whatever takes your fancy.
Machine Embroidery (my passion)
We have, at present time, two classes per week for machine embroidery enthusiasts; three dressmaking classes, two patchwork classes with the potential for more and week-end workshops. We also offer “Learn how to use your sewing machine” classes and Learn how to use you overlocker” classes.
Sewing machine service and repairs.
All work is done on the premises at present time. There is a fully equipped workshop with its own air conditioner, so very comfortable for whoever works in there. It’s also right off the kitchen so more cups of coffee!!
At present our shop is listed with Neville Chapel – www.hlbco.com.au
